Downtown Charlotte was busy this weekend and so was the Fan Freedom Street Team. O.A.R. was in town for a live performance on Saturday night at the downtown amphitheater while the Panthers hosted the Vikings Sunday afternoon. O.A.R. has a reputation for a great live show and they didn’t disappoint in Charlotte. It was the coldest night of the year and fans were eager to put the heat on Ticketmaster for their restrictive ticketing policies. Imagine being left in the cold at the box office while the music blares from the arena. Not a good time.

Despite losing on Sunday, Panthers fans are feeling good about their future with the continued stellar play of QB Cam Newton. Fantasy football owners are also rolling with Cam Newton. Fans are not as excited about Ticketmaster however, especially as Panther tickets are becoming increasingly popular. Win or lose, Panthers games are exciting again thanks to Newton and his offensive weapons like the rejuvenated Steve Smith. That means the secondary market is key to Panthers fans’ ability to purchase tickets. “I bought it, I own it” is becoming a frequent cheer at the games.
